HORSE MARKET
Mr T. Bullock reports for the fortnight ending Saturday, February 18th : — There tt&b only a small entry of horses, and very few farmers present at the sile on Saturday 11th, consequently litt'e • usinens waß done. On Saturday, the 18ih, there was again a very limited attenrlanc^. 19 horses were br^a ht forward for the day 'a sa c, and, with few exceptions, an iofeiior lot. Out of the 19 enter, d, 9 were sold as follows, viz :— Medium draughts, 4 and 6 years old, £21 10a, £22 ; age.l, £5 to £9, acoordiag to description ; hacks, t'4 6a to £7 sa ; inferior, £2 IBs to £3. Biddings throughout the sale were slow.
Previous to the usual horse sale I offered a number of town propsrfciea, for which it was difficult to obtain a bid, and only succeeded m selling T.S 825, Cox street, containing £ acre with two brick houses erected thereon, and which only realised the low figure of £100.
