Sia, — In the " Mail's " report of thi Oouocll's proceedings list night, re Western Fire Brigade Councillor Haiti it reported as saying th»t "During the past two years the Western Fire Brigade h»s only been first at two fires." Either Councillor Soft's mnmory, or bis arith m«tlo must ba at fault, as I oan mention five fire?, or alarms, during the last twelve mouths at which this Brigade was fi-nt on the eeone, viz. At the alarm on 28th last •t the Templar Hall, at the Woolhn factory, at tho house whloh was burnt down noar the North Belt, at the tusiook fire near the Old Men's Home, and it the fire In the Domain.
If Oouueillor Scott wants a few more instances to show the seal and energy whloh characterises the members of the Western Fire Brigade In their endeavors to be of service to the Borough, I have no doubt bat what he can be supplied. I am ate, A MEMBER OF THB W Mt BBN FIRB BRIGADE February 7th, 1888.
