AUCTIONEER'S REPORT
Mr Petor Williams (for Friedlander Bros. ) reports for tho week ending Tuesday, 31«t January, 1888 : — Oa Saturday, the 28th iast, we held our weekly sale of horses ai oar East St. Horse Bsziar. There was a moderate attendanoa of farmers and others. The entiy consisted of 22 horsei, mostly good sorts, bat the bidding was not so brlek aa laat week owing to most of the farmer* being supplied. Good upstanding young horaes found buyers, bat aged and inferior horse* are very dull of sale, la f»et you on hardly giro them away, .We quota good draughts at £24 to £27 ; medium, £13 10s to £19 ; inferior, £9 to £11 : hacks, £3 to £7 JMPutMtuciß :-Farm dray £2L Pioa :— Slips, lls eaoh. Poultry :— Fowls, 2* per pair, Produce :— Derwents 2« 6i per bag ; barley 5i 0d per bag ; oats li 8d per bashel ; flour 18a 0 1 per bag ; ohick wheat, 2i 6d per bushel ; oatmeal 2s 9i per bag ; tea, 12 1 6d par box; oheeie, 3d per 1b ; baoon, 4* par lb ; mutton, l}d par lb. Furniture and sundries at full rates. At the Tlnwald Yards on Taesday, the 31st iast, about 1700 sheep and 40 head of cattle came f rwird, oat of which l<oo sVeep were to ned oot. The attendance of farmers and boyurs was very small In* deed The following are the prioes obtained :— Medium fat crossbred swei, 4i to 4i 3 J ; fat lambs, 6* Id ; hoggets, very backward, 3i 51
