Ddblin, January 26 Proceedings have been taken to quash the inquest held at Mitchelstown, m which a verdict oi wilful murder was returned against County Inspector Brownrigg and Constables Kirwan, GavaD, Doran, £. Reader and Brennan, aud warrants issued for their arrest. The grounds on which it is sought to upset the inquiry are that Coroner R. Rice was partial, also that certain of the jurors were biassed, it having been shown that they were ! actively engaged m the rict m which the three victims upon whom the inquest was held were killed, and that, therefore, the inquiry was not a legal one.
A large force of police and military have been despatched to Galcorragh, as it is feared that bloodshed will result over the arrest of Father Stephens. Dublin, January 27. Mr P. O'Brieo, M.P. tor Monaghan North, who was arrested on a charge of inciting the people, has been sentenced to four months' impiisonxnent. Notice of appeal was given.
