Sydney, January 28 The Broken Hill mines still continue to give large yields of silver, especially the principal claim, and this week the returns have been exceptionally large. A latge number of new claims have been pegged off, and m a few hours companies are fl xited to work them. Adelaide, January 28. In the city a perfect silver mania has set m, and the excitement is quite unprecedented. A number of shopmen m the town have thrown up their engagements and repaired to the field, where they have gone m for specula tion. One ot their number is reported to have made m three months, but most of them have lost everything. One mining broker has cleared this week, but should a sudden fall m the stock take place, it means tuia to a large number.
