In 188G the diamonds from the Klmberiey mine produced £883,503, and those from the Do Baera mine realis d £751,735,. miklug » total of £1,638,238, and good dividends were paid by all the Companies coccorned, though the two which now remain were less occupied In producing diamonds than m completing the great underground works which have now rendered tlpir property tp valuable, During the firut eight months of the year, for which tho official returns have been published, the Klmberiey mine has (says an exchange) realised £840 700, and the Da Beero mine £596,800, making a total of £1,446,509, and as the rate of production Ib now increasing, there is little doubt that the total for the year will reach £2,0C0,000. For the nine months that have elapsed tho Kimberley mine has paid dividend* of ovet 20 per cent, and the De Beers mine has paid 15, and this may be considered satisfactory, even If the purchase of the Oompagnie Francsh ahouid not be immediately productive, and prevent the payment of farther dividends In December. The produotlon of Da T^itspan lv 1886 was £977,204, and of Bultfontein £645,806, making a total of £1,623,010.
