[Pan Pbess Association.] Christohtjkoh, January 27. The May Queen is still on the reef. It • considered doubtful whether Bhe will s>et off. She was badly strained during ow water. Out of 1300 t*ma of general cargo 150 have been got out. Five lightens are engaged m salvage. It is expected if the weather continues fine most of the cargo will be saved. It is nearly all consigned to Christchurch firms except 20 cases for Napier. A good deal of it is insured at Home. The insurances m the local offices are : — Standard, £3000; National, £1100 ; New Zsaland, £1000 ; I Union, £900 ; Sonth British, £200. The vessel ia owned by J. Leslie, Aberdeen^ and ia iea ured at Home. She was commanded by Capt. Colville. Later. The May Qaeen has been abandoned to the underwrite*!, She Is lying with har head pointing S S.E. and banging os the boulders from about the mainmast, the stern being m deep water. There is now nine feet of water In the pert bod. Tbe weather is fine, the wind blowing rtsh from the S. W
