ROMAN CATHOLIC CATHEDRAL.

The Roman Catholics propose to finish St. Mary's Cathedral to commemorate the Centenary, The building stands on the edge of Hyde Park, on th* site of ftwo former cburcfies, destroyed by fire. The projected dimensions are 300 ft long, width within transepts nßft, width of nave and aisles 74ft, height about 90ft, central tower 1 20 ft. Two towers, with spires at the southern end, will rise to an altitude of 260 ft. The building has been many years m course of construction! and is partly roofed m. About five years ago it was temporarily opened with great ceremony, September, 1882.
