Bkblix, January 20. Replying to the address from the President of the Prussian Diet, the Emperor William said he expected peace to be maintained despite the present uncertainty. He explained that the increase m the Landwehr was imperative owing to the enlarged armaments of the neighboring powers. The extra expenditure on this account would exceed two hundred million florins.
Bbrltk, January 22, The " Kolnische Zeitung" states that Russia meditates a descent on Turkey on the pretext of enforcing payment of the indemnity, and that Constantinople wilL be ajpproached by way of Asia Minor. Tne same paper also states that the French Squadron is preparing I at Toulon, doubtless with the intention of assisting Russia.
