MOUNT SOMERS ROAD BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of the Mount Somers Ro id Board waa held last Wednesday. Present — Measrs Walker (chairman), Harrisou, McFsrlane and ' Edson. I overseer's report. / The Overseer's report was read and oonaidered. : Mr W. McCliniont interviewed the Board and a9ked permission to fence across the by-roid near the Mount Somers Bridge — Granted CORRESPONDENCE. Letters were re *d (1) From Mr McMillan, asking tho Board to push on the work at Roai'a Cutting as rapidly as po*Bi>>le — i'he Overseer was instructed to att nd to Mr McMillan's wants, and to push on the work.— (2) Prom Mr P. Tiscb, off! ring to lease the Recreation Reserve opposite the A'ford Forest Hotel —The Oierk was instructed to reply tbat at present the Board have no power to deal with the matter, bat as soon as they are invested with the necessary authority Mr Tisch's application would receive consideration —(3) From Mr A. E. Peache asking permission to take tramway aoross road near Section 18280.— Granted.— -(4) From Mr D. H . Potts, dr*wing the Board's attention to the neoessity for some f enoing at Booth's Cuttiog —Resolved to aßk the County Council to grant sufficient funds to do the work PAYMENTS. The pay-sheet, amounting to £136 13a 6d was pas. Ed for payment , and the Board adjourned to the firat Monday m Maroh.
