THE POPE AND THE COLONIES
Roue, January 19. Bishop Moore, of Ballarat, has had a second private audience with his Holiness the Pope, and presented an address from the Roman Catholic hierarchy of Australia, In acknowledging the address his Holiness made minute enquiries respecting the Catholics of the colonies, and expressed the opinion that their advancement was due to self-government.
