The organislo? committee consisted of Oount v Stephen It itolyt (president), Herr Ludwlg ton Oosarolozky (member of the Diet, and editor of ibe Egyetertes), and Herr Mamui von Jokal (member of tbe Diet, and editor of the Mema >t), Among tbe efents were prteia consisting of golden apples for the three most beautiful women Tha firat prim was awarded to Fraa'eln GUeila Hcbultr, wbo Is 18 years of age ; the fete, curiously enough having taken . place on her blrthdsy. The golden apple, * Inscribed "To the All Beau'lfal, September 20th, 1887," w«s presented to her by Oount Ktrolyi. The seoond and third prizes were apples similar to that jut described, aud were awarded to Fr»nlein I<ia Toronyl »nd Fraoleln Marlak* Kolos. These tw<> lad!e« are natives of Bad*P«sth ; while Miv Bohulor is a native of Oroiktßi* The apples were hung round tbe winners' throats ss lockets, The fate, altogether, was a great toocess. More than 100,000 victors were preinut. some of whom bad travelled very long distance*. The amount realised for the charitable purpose for which the fete wm held wm 60,000 fhrlnt (about £6000 )
