Oaiho Januaiy 17, News has been received that a force of 500 friendlies and some cavalry surprised Osman Digna at Handoub and captured his camp. The rebels subsequently rallied and recaptured it, and the assailants were forced to retreat to Suakim, which they reached after close fighting. During the Skirmishing, which took place close to the latter town, Colonel Kitchener and Major Macmurdo were slightly wounded.
