There are some Baltic provinces which Germany would gladly take m exchange. It would be too muoh to expect Austria to relinquish Oraow, but means might even be found to provide compensation for such a sacrifice. It is likely ennttgh that such « schema bad beeo talked over, bat the rumor has been probably founded, not so ranch on Infer maticn reoeived as on the lively Imagination of Its authors. The resu .citation of Poland would unquestionably be of grett strategic value, as It would Be ure a neutral frontier for Germany, althmgh tbe advantage to Aus ria Is uot s-> evHen*, Tbe rumor wonld have mor&vraisemblancc lf Austria were left out of th . plot.
