SPEECH BY LORD SALISBURY.
tLo»DON,| January 13
The Marquis of Salisbury, m the course of a speech, said Government would be resolute m their endeavors to disperse the existing depression, both m Great Britain and Ireland, and he hoped that the dawn of a new season of prosperity was near. Gigantic armies were now raised, and the uncertain national feeling which prevailed was a source of great danger m Europe, although the position of Continental affairs presented a rather brighter out* look at present than had been the case recently. He felt justified m hoping for the future prosperity of the country. He deplored the war between Italy and Abyssinia, but wished the Italians success m their efforts.
