Some months Bgo paragraphs went the rounds of the papers announcing that the Star of Bethlehem, whioh makes its orbit once m 400 years, would return In 1888. We have not heard of is having been Been an yet by Few Zealand observ r • bat It would appear from an extract from a letter received by a gentleman m 4.uckland from a brother residing m 'hi UnUed States, publiihid by tha " Bell,' that the astronomers were right m their calculations: The writer Bays :— " 'The Star of Bethlfchom ' has at laat arrived. Bright, beautiful, and glorious It gleams m the morning eky, and though its brilliancy is eclipsed as the &un rises and the day opens it is yet still distinct, and visible far Into the morning. Some say thay have seen the atnr at noon, I have not done that, but I have seeen it about hilf-paat nine m tho morninp, almost overhead and with ao unclouded nan."
