THE FISHERIES COMMISSION.
Ottawa, January 7. It is stated that the result of Mr Chamberlain's efforts m reference to the settlement of the fisheries dispute has proved satisfactory. He has succeeded m inducing the Dominion Government to effect a compromise, Jbnd a final settlement of the difficulty is assured.
