Clement G Harding, for false pretences, was sentenced to * years, having jußt come out of gaot from serving * sentence on five similar charges. John Jobnstone, alias Ticklep^nny, and Charles James Sharp, larceny, were each sentenced to one year with hard labor. ±ne case of Uriah James Wi.liams, for indecent assault, is now proceeding,
Otautan Flooded' llnvbroaboill, January 6. Heavy rain fell during tbe last 24 hours, and it is reported that tbe township of Otautau is under water. The weather is now fine.
A Prospector Drowned. Charleß A, Cooper, one of a party of prospectors who left Kiverton for Preservation Inlet six weeks ago, was *ached overboard from a boat end drowned.
