DISTRESS IN LONDON.
London, January 2* Th° unemployed distress is very acute. Numerous cases of persons suffering from starvation are met with m the streets daily. Poor-house relief is refused, the men demanding work and declining to submit to be treated as paupers. Many families are subsisting on gutter refuse.
