I A message was reoel/ed from the Governor informing the Oounoil that His Excellency had reserved the Governor's Salary BUI, whloh had passed both branches of Legislature, for Her Majesty's assent. FIRST READINGS. The following Bills were rocelved from the H>nao of Representatives, and read a first time. The aeoond readings were ordered to be taken at 2.30 p.m.: — Pablio Revenue* Bill, Midland Railway Bill, and Property tax Bill, The Oouuoil at 11.15 a.m. adjourned to 2.30 pm. The Ooanoll resumod at 2.30 p.m. THE BHEEP BILL. The amendment m the Sheep Bill, Agreed to by the House of Reprwentatlves ' vas concurred In. BILLS PASSED. The following Bills were read a aeoond time and pissed all their stages : — Pablio Revenues Bill, Midland Railway Bill and Property Tax Bill. I RAILWAYS BILL, The Governor's message (re Government Railways Bill) fixing ihe chief commlaalon's salary at not more than £2500, was reoeived, and the amendment Agreed to, PUBLIC BODIES BILL A. slight amendment In the Pabllc Bodies Bill made by the House of Representatives was reoeived from the Home and agreed to. The Oounoil adjourned at 7.30 p.m. Tho Council resumed at 7.30 p.m. NAVAL DEFENCE BILL, TheJAttorney-General moved the aeoond [ reacting of the Australasian Naval Da* feaoe Bill. Ho thought the Council would be wise to pass the measure through ! m early as possible: Mr Bonar and Mr Pharszyn supported the Bill. I Mr Shephard moved that tbe debate be adjourned. The amendment was loot on the voices. The second reading was carried. The Bill was then committed and reported without amendment, read a third time, and passed. THE LOAN BILL.
