_-_* ASHBURTON— THURSDAY. (Before Mr John Olivier, R.M.) The following is the conclusion of yesterday's Court : — } CIVIL OASBS, T. and R. Morgan v, W. MoOHmant, elalm £3 3s 2d.— Mr Olayton for plaintiff. —Judgment for amount claimed. T. and R. Morgan v McDonald, claim £4 10s 6d.— Judgment for plaintiff. Reveli v Oox, claim £1 10. 8d — Mr Cathbertson for plaintiff. — Judgment by default. Isabella Hewett v Hugo Frledlander, alaim £3 13s 2d.— Mr Outhbertnon appeared for plaintiff — Tho plaintiff stated tbat she had been engaged as cook and ' laundress and had remained m defendant's ' employ from September 10 to October 13. : —Mr Friedlander asked for a non-suit, baaing his application on the provisions • of tbe Maraied Women's Property Aot. He said that he allowed Mrs Friedlander a certain sum monthly for household 1 expenses and he argued tbat this con- < stltuted a separate estate and that she was < liable for all olaims whloh were properly 1 made on account of household expenses. ' — The Magistrate could not entertain Mr 1 Fried-lander's application. He ruled that 1 the case was not one to whloh the « Married Women's Property Act was con- > templated to apply, and therefore there > was no g.ound for a non-suit. — There was 1 % farther defence to the effect that the > plaintiff had behaved badly by leaving her 1 employers m the larch at a time when ' there waa sickness m the family.— Judg- < ment waa given for plaintiff for £2 2.. < The Court then rose. 1
