♦ [BETJTBB's TBLEORAM3— COPYKIGHT.] London, December 12. Consols are quoted ioi^. New Zealand 4 per cents have further advanced -j£i t and are now £97 10s. The market rate remains at 3 per cent, or 1 per cent below the Bank rate. The hardening tendency m the metal market continues. Scotch pig iron, ' £o.b. m Clyde, has advanced 3s per ton, and is now quoted at 475. Breadstuffs and tallow are unchanged. Melbourne, December 13. The local manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, Limited, reports on the Melbourne markets as follows :—Shipping wheat is dull and d opping at 3s 7d to 3s 8d per bushel ; malting barley, 4s to ss, but quotations are nominal; New Zealand oats, teed sorts, quiet, 2s od to 2s iod ; milling descriptions meet with moderate inquiry at 2s iod to 2s lid 1 New Zealand oats, under bond, 23 id to 2s 2d.
