The Harbor Board have decided that the evidence taken by the Board of Inquiry with respect to the ferry steamera raolng on the 9bh ult shall ba forwarded to the Marine Board, with & request that they will take judicial aotion if necessary; The Finanoial Reform Association has telegraphed to Mr Goldie, asking him to inqaire what claims Mr. Baddeley, R.M., haß for his proposed pension. Mr Goldie has replied that he is a member of a special committee deputed to consider this matter. A little girl, Florence Mary Murdoch, was drowned yesterday by falling infco a creek at Karekere, near Manukau Heads. The Grand Jury found no bill against the girl Mary O'Connor on a, change of manslaughter, but the case against her fpr concealment of birth was proceeded with »t the Supremo Court to-day. His Honor, In answer to Mr Napier, who appeared for the defence, said he thought there was a flaw m the indictment. He would give hia decision on the point to-morrow. Two gum diggers, Donald Brown, and Simpkin Christmas Hackett, were charged with killing an ox with intent to Bteal the same. Hackett only was found guilty, but the other prisoner is to be oharged with recelylng the stolen property. NbJiSON, December 33. John Arnold met with a serioas acoldent at Upper Motapeko yesterday. He and his brother were shearing, when, whilst the latter was sharpening his shears, John was knocked over by a sheep, and he fell on the shears hia brother was holding. The blade entered his back below the ribs, penetrating to a depth of four inches, Greywouth, Dacember 13. This morning a stable and store at tho back of McKechnio'B premises, Dunganyille, were completely destroyed by fire, involving a loss of at least £300. The property was not insured. The origin of the fire is a mystery, as only a few months ainca McKechnie's store, stock, and residence were also mysteriously burnt down, whereby he was almost ruined. At a meeting of the Education Board this evening it was resolved that, owing to the reductions made by tho Government, three months' notice of termination of agreement bo given to all the teachers m the employ of the Board.
