LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
, Wednesday, December 7. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. honoearium:. Dr Pollen, m moving a motion to the effaot that the Council concur with the House m any redaction of allowances to members which shall maintain the equality of treatment between the two Chambers established by the Parliamentary Honorarium Act 1884, said that the oountry did not want the reduction. The fact was that it was a sort of cheese-paring m the kitchen while riot ran throughout the hall. Sir Frederlok Whltaker Bald that the oountry demanded reduotlon from the Government down to thn junior messenger In the service, and he warned the Council not to run contrary to the popular demand. After dissuasion the debate on the motion was adjourned, PHARMACY BILL, The Pharmaoy Bill was committed and reported with amendments. SECOND HEADINGS, The following Bills were read a second time :— Napier Harbor Board Amendment Bill, Akaroa Council Reclamation BUI. ; The motion for the seoond reading of the North Dunedin Cemetery Bill was 1 rejected On an amendment by Mr | Reynolds that the Bill be read that day ■ six months. J The Council adjourned to 7.30 p.m. 1 The Council resumed at 7.30. ' , After a short discussion on a motion by ' Sir F. Whltaker, the Native Land Court i Administration Act; Repeal Bill, the c Native Land Court Aofc Amendment Bill, and the Maori Real Estate Management * Bill were read a seoond time and referred , to the Native Afialrs Committee. ORDEHS. 3 The remaining Orders of the Day were r discharged and made orders for next day . % . The Council at 8.15 adjourned.
