THE NEW NAME.
London, December 5. Sir Saul Samuel, Agent-General for New South Wales, had an interview today with Sir H. Holland, Secretary of State for the Colonies, when the subject of re-naming New South Wales was 'broached by the former. Sir H. Holland declined to express an opinion upon the subject of the proposed alteration. The " Times " this morning has an article upon the meditated alteration of the name of "Australia" by New South Wales. The writer deals with the subject ia a humorous manner, and suggests an option fi Kastern Australia " if a change of name is imperative.
