[EBTJTBR's TBIEGBiMS— COPY.BIGHT ] Milbotjrnb, December 5. r Messrs Dalgety and Co. (Limited) held their usual weekly wool sale this afternoon. There was a very large attendance of buyers, and bidding throughout was remarkably brisk. A marked improvement m tone was manifested, which was attributable to the news received of an advance inj prices, at the London wool sales, the depression oi last week being fully recovered. 1800 bales were offered, of which 1600 were disposed of at very tatisfactory prices. Superior greasy merinos sold up to iod, and m some instances to#d per lbj medium to good do brought from 6}4d to o.d ; while inferior to medium sorts reached from 6d to 7^d per pound : medium to good crossbred brought as much as S^d j merino lambs' wool as high as io#d per lbj scoured merino and crossbred sold up to is 2^d, while medium washed merino realised m some instances n^d per lb. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following cable message from London, dated 2nd December, 1887. Wool— Competition is increasing, and market is firmer, especially for new clip long staple merino, light m grease.
