Napier, December 6« A &horfc time ago a telegram forwarded from here narrated the circumstances under which Sub-Superintendent Gilbert, of the Napier Fire Brigade, laid olaim to a olook won by a team of the brigade oome years ago. He took the olook away, and he Invited the brigade to take legal proceedings to test his olaim, bat ultimately it was agreed to submit the matter to arbitration. After sitting sixteen hours, and taklngevldenoe, the arbitrators to-night decided that the olook belonged to the winning team and not the brigade* and as Gilbert had bought oat the aharea of tha other members of the team the olook was hla property.
