Three Card Trick. Wellington, November 30. At the R.M. Court, a charge against Patrick Ferguson, for playing the three card trick on board the Te Anau, was dismissed, the Magistrate holding that he could not convict either under the Gaming and Lotteries Act or tbo Police Offences Act. Under the former Act it had not been shown that the ship was a public place, and under the Police Offanoes Act cards are not instruments of gaming, although they are under the Gaming and j Lotteries Act. Criminal Assault. Charles Martin has been arrested on ft charge of a criminal assault on a girl under 12 years of age, and remanded till Saturday. Copper Miping. Nelson, November 80. The Champion Copper Mining Company's property waa put up to-day and bought m for £2900. Committed flgrTriqi. Chkistohukoh, November 30. This morning John Handera, his sop William Manders, and Frank O'Neill were committed for trial on a charge of stealing three pair| of trousers from. the abop of Peter Cairns. John Madders was alep committed on a charge of stealing 351bs of tobacco from tho shop of Taylor and Papps, Drifted to Ben. Westport, November 30i George Craddock, a boatman plying on the Bullor river for 20 years past, drifted across the bar yesterday afternoon and has not been picked up;
