ASHBURTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
The ordinary fortnightly meeting was held last night. Present— The Mayor, and Ora Williamson, X Friedlander, Tucker, Soott, Roberts, Beid, and Harilion. mayor's statement. The Mayor said the debit balanoe at the Bank wai £1336 5s 7d He detailed the amounts whioh had been received ■inoe last meeting. CORB_SSro_.D_-_.o_-Letters were read (1) From County Counoil offioe, stating that an adjourned meeting to eleot representatives on Charitable Aid Board would be held on December 2nd. — It was deoided to delegate the election of representatives to the County Oounoil ; (2) From Municipal Conference, forwarding copies of resolutions passed at the reoent session of the Conference. (3) From Canterbury Fire Insuranoe Association, approving of Gounoll's choice of a B Yertloal Steam Sire Engine : (4) From Charitable Aid Board requesting payment of Council's contribution £43 la 3d— Amount passed j (5) From same m reference to the election of representatives ; (5) From Mr W. 0. Walker acknowledging reoeipt of Council's letter on tbe subject of the Auctioneers' BHi, M-fiUn-BBS' Bffl-ORT. The Engineers reported that they had Invited tenders for cutting grata m the squares. The remainder of the report was of a routine charater . The report was adopted. DOO COLLARS. It waa resolved to invite tenders for tbe supply of dog collars. VALUATION. It was resolved to Invite tenders for the compilation of the va nation roll, the Works Committee being empowered to Mcept a tender. GRASS. Tenders for the right to cut grass m Baring Square (East and West) were opened, end that jot Mr A. Young at £1 wm accepted, LICENSC. A kerosene license was granted to $fr H, M. Carson. PAYMENTS. Accounts amounting to £147 19s 3d were passed for payment and tbe Oounoil •djourned.
