AUCTIONEERS' REPORT.

Messrs H. Matson and Co. report upon the live stock market for the Ashburton Distriot for the week ending Nov. 220 das follows :—

Qn Tuesday, at the Tinwald Yards, we held our usual weekly sale of sheep, cattle, and pigs. There was a fair entry of stook, comprising 4000 sheep and 120 head of catle. The attendance was an average one, but bidding did not come freely and dragged oat the sale until a late hour, and as the weather turned out very wet late m the afternoon a great many left before the close. In fat sheep almost all the pens were oleared at about late rateß ; but for two and four tooth orossbred owes and wethera, m good condition, a bettor demand was shown, and we could plaoe Baveral lines at a slight advanoe on late rates. In oattle we cannot quote any improvement. We sold as follows :— Fat crossbred four-tooth wethers, 123 to 123 Sd ; medium, 10s to 10s 9d, all m the wool ; shorn orossbred, 63 3d to fs 3d; m stores, a very nioa line of forward wethera (four-tooth) with few ewes, 11b 9d ; orossbred hoggets from 4s 9d to 8s lOd; crossbred ewes and lambs, 8s 4d ; merino ewes and lambs, with small percentage of iambs, 3s 4d ; shorn orossbred two-tooth, 6s Id. In Cattle— Fat stores, £6 5s to £6 7s 6d ; fat cows, £4 to £5 ; two year-old steers, £2 5s to £3 ss; eighteen .months' cattle, £2 to £2 10s ; yearlings and calves, 22s 6d to 10s.
