Mr Sibbald, who ia a son of the late Mr David Sibbald, nurseryman, Lowor Crescent, Dundee, has been twenty yoarjj resident m Souih Canterbury. He served his timo at sea m the employ of the late Messrs Fyfe and Erskine, shipowners, and passed the Marine Board here, and was for some lime m California and Australia bofore he settled m New Zealand. As regards climate ho gives tbo palm to Now Zealand, where one can enjoy tho temperature of any country m Europe, m fact he declares there is not a more healthy climate m the world, and the country is i free from the venomous reptiles which ! infest Califprni/i and Australia.
