TROUT FISHING
There were brought (nto town this morning two fish, knows as the Thamea brown trout, which along with eleven otherß were caught on Saturday night m one of the Ngatora streams by Meisra 0. Bayley and J. McLean. The fish were angled for as usual with a fly, the anglers having obtained permission to fish m the stream from Mr W. L Newman, the hoc secretary of the Acclimatisation Society, In order to test the reports abont the great number of fish exUtlng la thin 00 weli as other streams m the neighborhood. The two that were brought into town weighed 2f Ib and l|lb respoc tlrely, both fine 'peoimenß, bat some of those caught turned fcbe soale at sb much so 51b. The stream m which the fish are said to be plentiful are the Ngataro, Ngatoroltl, and Ngatoronni. They were turned into these streams about 12 years ago, Mr Oaverhiil having introduced them here. At present thoy are bo numerous that they are deitroying each other, the big feeding on |tho little.— '• Taranaki Herald."
