Besides the local talen^, visitors from Danedln and Ashbarton — the Misses Lariaoh, Mitsa KiJd and Mas Shuty — rendered valuable ass'«ta'ioe, whloh was highly appreciated The programme consisted of Ue following items : —Overture, by Mr 0 Blaokbnrn ; eong by Rev H, Collins, " A huutiug we will go ;" trio, piano, violin and h»rp, Mri £earetan and the Minxes Larnsoh ; "Killarney," by Miss Ktdd ; "Ojiuh lasses and lads," Mr Bakor ; duet, piano, by Mia* Kidd and Miss Shnry ; reoitation bj Mr Dlxon " The New Z->-»land Gap ; " i quartette " The Carnival " by M«mdimex ; Bro.%dbent and Midgleyand Misses Collins I and Broadbent ; Harp solo, by Miss 0. Laintcb. This comprised the first part o? the programme : individual praise w aid be Invidious, sumo* It to sny every performer bronght down the house and every item was oncorad, end in all oases the enoore was responded to. The seooid part oonsisted of a duet on the ptano by Miss Eidd and Miss Shury ; tfbng by Mien Bruce, '• Barney O'Qea;" daet harp and Pftno, by Mrs Seoretan and Miss O. Larnoch ; song, •♦Twickenham Feny " by Miss Young ; sernDad^, harp and v •Jin, hy the MUseß Lamaoh ; sang, by Will Kidd, " flora's a health to bonniScotland , " violin solo by Miss 0. Larnaoh The seoond half of thu programme was appreoiated in the same manner as the first ; the audienoe do* minding an enoore in every instance in the moat emphatic manner. A very hearty vote of thanks was aoaordod the ladies and gentlemen for providing each a treat. la conseq ience of the inclement weather the promoters deoided not to hold the danoe as advertised, but to have one oa Friday, November 18th, instead. Those present, however, as soon aB the ball was cleared thinking the opportunity too goo<? to be lost, enjoyed a boupta of hoo'B dancing. Mrs Seoretan very kindly presided at the piano.
