At the Supreme Court. Wakaata was J acquitted of the charge of sheep stealing. ' John Wilson pleaded guilty to four charges of embezzling the Waitara Harbor Boards funds and wpb sentenced to three yearß. Wililam Dory, convioted of breaking and entering, was sentenced to two months. There Is only one criminal case remaining to be disposed of. Great interest is being taken !n the civil ca?e against a defaulter m payment of the harbor rates, which is expected, to be taken on Monday. Mr Travers, from Wellington, will defend the aett'orn who I refuse to pay the rate. Otjnbdin, October 28. At the inquest on Mrs Jerram, who shot herself ia the North East Valley, a verdict of Buicide while temporarily insane, 'was returned. Dr Ogston'a evidence showed that she had been suffering from acute hysteria, a form of insanity, but the attack seemed to have passed •way. • The report of the National Insurance Company, for the yeae ended SO September, Bhpwed a profit of £16,333 10s 2d which added to £4326 9a lid brought forward from last \ear gives an available balance of £20 660 Os Id. An interim dividend at the rate cf 10 per cent was paid for the half year and a similar dividend I* now recommended. This absorbs £9,802 153 leaving to be carried forward £10,824 5? Id.
