The sanitary authorities at Launceston announce that no fresh cases of smallpox have been reported to them. The patients m the hospital are progressing favorably.

The Governments of Victoria and South Australia have agreed, subject to the approval of their respective Parliaments, to refer the case of the border dispute to the Privy Counoil with a riew to an early decision being arrived at.
