MELBOURNE EXHIBITION

The Select Committee appointed by the Federal Council to consider the proposal of Prince Bismarck that a German Commissioner should be appointed for the Melbourne Exhibition have approved' of the appointment being made. Berlin, Ootober 27. The Federal Council to-day. p.assed a resolution approving of the appointment ol a Commissioner to represent Germany at the forthcoming Centennial Exhibition at Melbourne. Madrid, Ootober 27. The Cabinet, after mature consideration have signified to Sir Vincent Barrington, representative of the British Royal Commission for the Melbourne Exhibition, the willingness of the Spanish Government to permit the Philippine Islands to take part m the Centennial Exhibition. Melbourne, Ootober 28. It is expected that a special vote will be granted by Parliament to entertain visitors attending the Centennial Exhibition next year.
