Hanlan proposes to postpone the time fixed for the sculling match with Beach to a later date, owing to his bands being m bad condition.
(Rectlved October 32, 1.15 p.m.) A CONFERENCE. Sydney, Ootober 22 Sir John Hall, who recently arrived here} had an interview with the Premier yesterday wheo matters of common interest to New Zealand aad this colony were discussed. It was suggested by the Premier that New Zealand should be represented bya member of the Government at the forthcoming Conference. Sir H. Parkes also expressed himself favorable to the consideration of the Canadian route or the speediest means of transit for Australasian mails.
