LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. Thursday, OoroßEa 13. The Council met at 2 30 p.m. A SSISSEP IMM (G RATION. Mr Randall Johnston presented ft petition from Glaborae m favor of •Belated immigration, ADDRESS-IN-REPLY. Sir Frederick Whitaker brought up the report of the committee appointed to draw up tha Addreas-in-Reply, Mr Oliver moved that the adoption of the report be considered next day, THB MIDLAND RAILWAY. Mr Waterhoaße aaked the Attorney* General if the agreement for the ooastuo tlon of the Bast and West Coast Hallway Id the Middle Island had been duly signed, and if not, under what cironmstanceß and under what understanding certain works In connection therewith have been commenced. g|The Attorney-General said that tht only oontraot signed was In 1884. The work being pursued was being due trades the agreement signed that year. CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES. Captain Baillfe, on the motion of Sic Frederick Whitaker, was appointed Chairman of Committees. SESSIONAL COMMITTEES The usual Sessional Committees were appointed, pursuant to notices of motion. IMPREST Sir Frederick Whitaker announced that an Imprest Bill and Revenue Bill were expected from the Hoase next day. The Council would ait on Saturday afternoon m order to diajrose of the Bills and othee business. He moved that the Oounoll at its rising on Friday to adjourn to Saturday. The motion was agreed to. .
