'Hold on, there,' called a voice as the trumpets were about to be lowered, ' I am Mrs L., and I want to tell both of yen men that you state a deliberate falsehood when you cay I listen ! You are no gentlemen, and my husband shall make you apologise !' * And hold on some more,' called a second voice. Ism Mrs 8., and anyone who says I listen to other people's talk has got to prove it m Oourt 1 Make up your minds to hear from ma !' Four trumpets were carefully lowered from fcur ears, and hung up on fcur telepone b._eß, and deep silence brooded o'er the land. — " Detroit Free Press."
