THE SUGAR-WORKERS' DEMONSTRATION.
The anti-bounties demonstration paraded the streets, headed by bands and with banners flying. One resolution, which was carried enthusiastically, was to the. effect " That this meeting regarded with indignation a fiscal system which permitted foreign labor and fore's" guocls to destroy home industries and pauperise the industrial classes of the country." It was also resolved to request Lord Salisbury and Mr Goschen to receive a deputation appointed by the meeting.
