AUCTIONEER'S REPORT.
Mr Peter Williams (for Frfedlander Bros ) report* for the week ending Tuesday, 27 h September, t837 :— On Friday. 23rd inst., we held .our fortnightly sale of sheepskins, at ,onr East Street Hone Bazaar. About '46o ekiaa were brought forward, and the following prices were obtained : — Best crossbred*, 4s 6d, 4s 91, sr, 5j 8i ; medium do, 3a, 33 6d, 3s 9J, 4*, 4s 2d ; good m: riii'-B, 3', 3j 6d, 3) 9d, 4b, 03 ; medium, 2s, 2s Gl j crossbred hoggets, 3s. ■ On Saturday, the 24th inst., <?e held our wetkly sale of horse 3at out East Street Horse Bszaar, sfcor the hor.e parade. The entry consisted of 3 C ydesdale entires, 10 draught marea and geldings, and 28 lljrht horses, bro&en and unbroken. There was a very large at* Undance of buyers, but the bidding was not very brisk. On account of Mr R Gawn, of Deer Park, Talerl, we submitted the Clydesdale entire " Johnny* Fancy." He is a dark bay horse, rising 3 years old, by Lord Salisbury. The bidding started at 100 guineas, bnt not reaoblng the vendor's reserve he was withdrawn ; bnt we have since- dispoaed of him privately to Mr Max Frledlander for £135 We also sold, on aoconnt of the came owner, one 4-year-old mare "Nelly," by Lord Clyde for £23. The next en the list waa J. Muodbll and (Jo's. 5 year-old entire • Superior," whloh wai passed m at 230 guineas. We also submitted, on account of John Orlgg, Esq., of Longbeach, hiß 3-year-old entire colt " Diplomacy. " He started at 100 guineas, and after reaching 140 guineas was withdrawn, bat we hope to be able to report a tale m our next week's report, he being now under offer privately. On account of Mr Max Friedlander we submitted a lot of 2 3, and 4-year-old hacks, oolts, and tillles, by Moblemin Bnd Hornßly, broken and unVroken The prices obtained were very satisfactory, v'z , £5, £5 10), £5 10s, £8 10s, £9, £9 15s £10, £U 10i ; light hirnes3hoises, £9 10a to £17. On account of Mr Charles McGregor, of Palmeraton, we Bold a few very got d ra «res m foal, but owing to t'aeir poor condition they did not come up to late Bales. The following are the prices obtained :— £3s, £25 10s, £24, £28 10a ; geldings, £20 to £25. Cattle,— Springers, £3 lCs to £4; cows just calved, £3 10s. Pocltry.— Fowls, 2s per pair. Produce. — Derwencs, Oairuru, 4s 6d per bag ; local, 2s 6.1 to 3a 31 per bag ; carrots, 2a to 2s Gd per bag ; Bath potatoes, for seed, Id per lb ; oatmeal, 3i per bag ; fljur, 18a Gd per bag ; tea, 12s Gd ; prime mutton, 2d ; beef, 2d to 2h\ ; cheeaoa, 21 ; bscor, 2£d per lb. Furniture, &c, at satisfactory rates. At the Tlnwald yards on Tuesday, the 27th inßt., the entry waß very email, Abont 1800 Bheep and 35 head of rattle came forward, Ouly one pen of fat sheep was Bold by auction ; mostly all lines were pieied. The attendance was very small. F*t crossbred eves fetched 8i 9d ; crossbred ewes, m lamb, aged, 5s 9d ; merino ewes, m lamb, 6s 4J ; 2-tooth forward crossbred wethers, 8j 9J ; 2 and 4-tooth crossbred ewes, m lamb, 10a Id cross* bred hoggets, 7a 10d ; fat heifew, £ GlOs.
