CRICKET.

The annual general meeting of 'he Aahburton Cricket Club took place last Friday evening at the Somerset Hotel. Present — Messrs Kneen (treasurer), Strange (secretary). Wroughton, Hawton, ' Fooks, L. F. Andrewes, Williams, H. Atkinson, Atkinsoo, Paul, Oliver, Bemple, and others Mr ETneen being voted to the chair, the Secretary and Treasurer respectively presented reports of the past eeaeon and balance-sheet to the meeting, both of which were favorably received and adopted. The Secretary stated that the number of members who had paid rubscriptions was 37, a satisfactory result, owing to the subscription being lowered to 10a 6d, at which amount it now standi Tbo Treasurer reported a creditable balance m hand of £5 Os Bd . The election of officers for the coming season resulted as follows: — Mr C. Q. Hawdon was re elected President of the Club . Messrs W. O. Walker, D . Thomas, and M. Scott were re-elected VicePresidents ; A. Fooks, captain; G. W. Andrews, deputy-captain; C. Strange, peoretory ; W. H. Kneen, treasurer ; and the following gentlemen m conjunction with the abovo were elected a Management Committee : Measrs Wroughton, Walmesley, Russell, Hawson, Moore, and J. Fooks. The Captain, Deputy Oipta.n, and Secretary were appointed a Ground Committee, and the proceedings terminated with a vote of thanks to the ohairmai.
