Auckland, September 24. What seems to have been a deliberate ■ttempt to wreck a passenger train from Helensvile to Auckland waa made last night, when three large Btoues were placed on the rails at a creasing. They were discovered by Mr Batkin, who at once removed them. The police have the matter m hand. The Steamer Bellinger, chartered by the Seamen's Union, arrived from Newcastle to-day.
