AUCTIONEERS' REPORT.
Mr Peter Williams (for Fried 1 under Bros.) reports for the week ending Tuesday, 20th September, 1887 : — On Saturday, 17th inst., we held our weekly sale of horses at our East Street Hor=e Baznar. The entry was not very large. Medium draughts, £10 10s, £13 and £11 ; hacks, £4 to £12. We also Bold privately the entire, " Younp Nobleman." for £35 We beg to call the attention of farmers and dealers to our ad - vertiseraents for Saturday's Bale. Prev.ous to tho horee Bale wo submitted on account oE J and B Tooner, 200 acres in Alford Forest district, Tho vendor's reserve not being obtained the property was passed in. However, we havo since sold 100 acres of tho farm at a satisfactory figure.
Poultry.— Fowls, 2s 6d to 3s 3d per pair ; geese, 4s per pair. Plus. — Porkera, 18a.
Prodoob — Oamaru potatoes, Derwenta, 4a 6d to 5s per bag ; Local, Is 9d, 2s, 2w Gd, 3 s 3d per bag ; carrots, 2s and 2s 3d per bag; mangoldn, 10d per ton; kidney potatoes, 7a 6d to 8a per bag ; fowls wheat, 9a per bag ; prime mutton, 2d por lb ; beef, 2d to 2£d per lb ; bran, 4s per bag ; oatmeal, 3s ; tea, J2h 6d ; cheese, 3d per lb. At the Ashburton yards on Tuesday, 20th inst. , tho entry was a very largo one in comparison to late ealos About 6000 sheep and 40 head of cattle were yarded. The sale was very dull all through, a lurge proportion of the stock being turned out Fat crossbred wethers, 10s 6d to lla 3d ; do ewos, 10a 6d ; fat lambß, 6a, 8s 6d- ; 2 and 4-tooth crossbred ewoß in lamb, 8s Id ; agod crossbred ewes and lambs, 4s scl ; % 4, and 6-tooth mixed croflßbreds, 6s to 7s 9d : 2- tooth crossbred wethers, 8a lOd ; Bound-mouth merino ewes ia lamb, 5a Bd.
