SUNDAY FISHING.
TO THE EDITOB. Sir, — "Angler's " letter ln your Issue of Monday Is scarcely worth a reply. There is no doubt such opl .ions could only have emanated from a blatant idiot or some poor demented creature. Why Bhould the Acclimatisation Society be called upon to interfere with Sunday fishing? What has it to do with the Soolety or anyone else, how anglers spend their Sundays 1 so long as the Society is not a loser and fish are legally taken. Liberty is the right of an Englishman and I maintain it is an Englishman's right to spend his Sunday how he likes. I presume it is against '■ Angler's" principles to fish |on the Sabbath, (notwithstanding he would be only too glad to have a trout taken on Sunday for breakfast the following morning) and I have no doubt, he would like the Society to form itself into a bible class, for the good of the poor unfortunates who are to be debarred the pleasure of their only day's outing during the week. Bowever, I am glad to Bay the Committee of the Society are the right men m the right place and wonld eoout the idea of such an imposition. — I am, etc., An Englishman.
