THE RANGITATA SEAT.
Mr S. Buxton, one o' the candidates for the representation of the Rangitata district, m the House of Representatives, addressed the electors of Chertsey m the Echoolhouse on Monday evening. There I wav a large attendance, and Mr W. Strachpn occupied the chair and introduced the candidate to the meeting. Mr Buxtons address was essentially the pamo as that delivered m other parts of the electorate. It wai well received and, attentively listened to, and evidently made a favorable impression upon a majority of the electors present. Messrs Stringfellow, Stracban, Todd, McDonald and other eleotors, put questions to the candidate, whioh were answered by Mr Buxton ln a manly and straightforward manner. At the end of the meeting a vote of thanks and cor fidenca to the candidate was passed by a majority of those present.
