This would take from 200 to 210 yards, and it ia for ' tho Council to decide if it (should be com- > pleted ah onoe or should etind over. At > the Old Men's Home the ahlngle ombank- - ment is completed, and the groios have ] been finished off where they have sunk with more shingle and another row of gorse fascines and willows. One is not quite finished, and there are a faw more willows to be planted, whioh ought to be done m a day or two. We propose covering the ahingle embankment with a few inches of soil from the street running round Mona Square, which la being skimmed m preparation for metalling, and aa there is a considerable quantity of grass m it it will speedily form a close awnrd. Thin has beeu commenced, and will be carried on by the Council's team as convenient. The ground, of ourse, had baen dried by tho recent fin? weather, but on examlDa'ion of the locality last week there seemed sufficient evidence to show that there was more shingle and less mud, tban had been represented, and that the portions of Aitkon and William streets m question were m a belter and more passable stats than that part of William street lying hetweon Cox Btreet and the Wakanulroad. BBLT Tho Works Committee reported that a deputation from the Harupstead Town Board had waited upon them m regard to the matter of Bdlta. It was agreed that the Board should have permission to effect repairs on their side of the Belt, subject to certain restrictions, The report was adopted. SIR JOLIUS VOCIKL'S MEETING In reply to Or H.
