RANGITATA AND ASHBURTON ELECTORAL FARMS.

TO THE EDITOB.

Sir, — There are those on the above farms who are intending to vote for a candidate m the Ashburton on the one side of the Houue, and m the Baugitata oo the other aide* I would like to call the attention of tboße to the fact, that if they return euoh, that practically these two districts are disfranchised on nuny important questions that will come up. I think euoh a relnrn would amount to putting one hor«e m the shafts and another on to the back of the cart. Any right-thinking farmer would immediately admit that such wisdom would never get the oart up the hill. Yet if frlr W. O Walker ia returned for Ashburton and Mr Rol'eaton for Rangitata it comes to ibis. What tbe farmer wants, Is that bis horses pull well together, then work oan bo done. I fancy I hear Bomeone say, Oh, but Mr Rolleßtnn is an old horse and tried. Yes so say I, too old. He has been tried and found wanting. Theße old h0r863 get to know a lot of t ioks, especially when the oata arefabout. I fancy he is on the scent now. What is wonted on the Rangitata Farm is one to pull with Mr Walker, and that one is to be had m Mr Buxton, who though young (m politics) is freßh, sound, willing, good tempered, and intelligent, just the stamp for the work required to represent the farming interests. 1 feel Bore the old horse has been on the road to long. His legs are shaky, wind not bo good as it used to be, any judge c«n hear that, when they hear the dreadful noiso he wakes, pulling dead against the Stout-Yogel team, But it is certain he cannot move them, they are staunoh to a man, and determined to pull the State waggon to a successful position. The blame will be on the people if it is not done, through them placing m this waggfn, horses whose day !s over and are on'y fis to be put out to gaess, at leas', for the next three years. Farmers, remember a good team Is indispensable, when at the ballot-box, and retarn the right pair, Walker and Buxton. With thanks for splice. — I am, etc,
