AUSTRALIAN MAILS.
At an interview with the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Agents-General asked for an equal division of postages. Mr Goschen replied that the proposal was unfair to the Treasury, since England sends most letters. Sir G. Berry remarked that if England kept th? outward postages and the. colonies the homeward, England would have a surplus and the colonies would suffer a loss. Sir H, Holland was present.
