+ CHRisTCHPBcn, September 10. A private cab'egrara from Sydney atates that 13 to 1 is offered against Pasha for the Hawkesbury Handicap. The bicycle 50 miles road reeotd was lowered today to 3 hours 43 minutes, by A. L. Pillow, of the Ohristohuroh Bicycle Club. The weather prospects are not bright for tha Oanterbury-Otago football match to-morrow. The ground is m splendid! order, «hd fine showers will not do much harm. The visitors will be entertained to a dinner by the Canterbury Bugby Union after the matoh. The Canterbury College students have invited the Otago team to a concert and ball to nighty and on Sunday the Otago team will be drlten to Sumner and entertained at dinner. The Canterbury team are the favorites for the matok ■ The Supreme Court action, Hewitt v. Cameron, for £500 damages, for injuries caused by defendant, who is a farmer at Methven, for assaulting plaintiff, resulted m damages of £50 being awarded ?by a special jury of four. ; . . ; r^- ; <
